In 1987, amid the daily violence, the Beiteddine Festival was bravely initiated, sending out a message of peace in Lebanon and around the world.
Held in the monumental 200 year-old palace, the Beiteddine Festival soon became one of the major cultural expressions of Lebanon and the Arab world, featuring famous performing artists such as Elton John (2001), Fayrouz and Ziad Rahbani (2003), UB40 (2005), Placido Domingo, Jessey Norman, to name a few.
